Overview
Millway House can accommodate 55 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. It was originally a large family home belonging to the Hartigan, then the Balding families, on the outskirts of Weyhill. Millway House is established as a high-quality nursing home, with the old house still playing a major part in ensuring that the home retains the feel of a family country home.
Situated at the heart of the local community, we make it our goal to ensure residents maintain their connection with the community and get the most out of life. The home has many communal areas and extensive, well-maintained grounds which offer a range of opportunities for relaxation and activity.
Communal rooms and floors in the home have been named following consultation with residents, and now reflect the history of the home and its past connections to horse racing. The comfortable bistro contains artwork, information and photographs of the original owners of the home and there winning horses.
We’re proud of our extensive programme of activities here at Millway House. We know that taking part in a broad range of activities and being able to continue with lifelong hobbies and interests, keeping our residents active and can help them live a more stimulating life. We consider ourselves to be one big family at Millway House. But we also warmly welcome the families of our residents to visit at any time – and this includes children and pets.
In order to help our residents stay as active and independent for as long as possible, we work with them and their families to achieve this. We aim to be your home for life, so our nursing team have the flexibility to respond to the changing needs of our residents, enabling them to enjoy the right care as their needs evolve.
You can enjoy Millway House's garden or spend time in the lounge, dining room or cafe. This home places a focus on resident wellbeing and offers indoor activities, outings and daily newspapers. There is a lift, ground floor rooms and wheelchair access in addition to wifi throughout the home and a post service.
Millway House offers some en-suite rooms and residents can feel even more at home here if they want to use their own furniture.
