Overview

A very warm welcome to Eboracum House
Residential care that meets the individual needs of all our residents. Our beautifully refurbished period home has been fully renovated and modernised to meet the varying needs of our residents while maintaining its Victorian features; catering to individuals with mobility issues, physical disabilities and lack
of confidence to live independently. The beautiful Victorian property is in a prime location on the outskirts of central Barnsley, situated opposite Locke Park and hosting 17 bedrooms.
Our community - At Eboracum House we have created a community where friendships and memories are made. Days are filled with laughter, friendly conversation, activities and outings. There is always plenty to do and families are actively encouraged to be a part of it all.
A weekly programme of events organised by our dedicated team keeps our residents busy, including afternoon tea parties, garden parties, quizzes, bingo and movie nights. Residents are welcome to join in as much or as little as they like. For those who like to get out and about we can arrange supported trips to local parks, museums and historic buildings, as well as meals out and other events. The beautiful, mature grounds are available for residents and their families to use,
offering seating areas where people can spend time reading, chatting, or simply watching the birds. Friends and family are always welcome to visit their loved ones at Eboracum House.
Care of the highest standard - We have a strong, committed, enthusiastic team of staff who pride themselves in providing a ‘home from home’ experience for all of our residents. The practical and emotional care we provide to residents and their families is of the highest standard and delivered by well-trained, compassionate staff.
Our residents deserve nothing less than excellence - Every member of our team is professionally trained and genuinely compassionate, providing 24-hour personalised care that respects individual needs, preferences, and independence. From daily assistance to specialised support, we ensure peace of mind for residents and families alike.
Our home - Eboracum House is an elegant, period home providing residential care for up to 17 residents. All our rooms are spacious, light and airy with a number of rooms hosting en-suite, accessible toilet facilities. Residents are encouraged to personalise their space and bring along pieces of furniture and personal mementos to ensure they feel at home. TV points are available in every room and there is a communal lounge for all to use. We have a range of communal areas that support group activities and time spent with friends. There are two light, airy sitting rooms and a sunny conservatory where residents can enjoy the view of the garden on cooler days. Our beautiful grounds allow people to sit outside and have facilities for people with a keen interest in gardening. We also have a sheltered terrace which provides a relaxing space to sit and read or talk to friends and family.
Our approach - At Eboracum House, we are dedicated to providing individual care with dignity and respect that meets each individual’s needs. We employ an informal, relaxed approach to ensure that we maintain our home from home feel, but we always deliver our care with absolute professionalism.
Working with residents, we develop personalised care plans that reflect their needs and review these plans on a regular basis to ensure all care requirements remain appropriate and continue to be met. We support and accompany residents on medical appointments, and if required we will arrange for doctors and nurses to visit the home. We will also continuously assess our residents’ needs and liaise closely with any other external professionals whose expertise we feel would be necessary and beneficial, such as dieticians, therapists etc. We offer respite care to individuals, for varying lengths of time, dependent on their needs. Whether they are with us for a few days, or a few weeks, a pre-admission assessment is always undertaken, to ensure that the care we offer meets each person’s individual needs and requirements.
Quality of care - We invest in learning and development opportunities for all of our staff, to ensure the care delivered is second to none. Our Quality Team make sure we are meeting the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines and local authority expectations in providing the best possible care.
It is important to us that we strive to constantly improve our care and the service offered to residents and their families. We hold regular resident and relative meetings to share information about the home and to receive feedback. We also conduct an annual survey and publish these results with an action plan on what changes we’ll make to carry on improving.
Freshly cooked nutritional food served every day.
