Overview
Cherwood House Care Centre offers a wide range of services on one site – we are a dual registered home, offering nursing & residential care, plus day care and sheltered accommodation.
Our facilities are considerable – we offer a choice of single and double rooms (many en-suite), and we have numerous sitting and dining areas. We also have an in-house laundry service, trolley shop, visiting podiatrist, activities organiser, hairdressing salon and licenced bar. Our own minibus ensures trips out are a regular feature of our home.
Our downstairs nursing wing is a secure unit; however, we encourage visitors at any reasonable time. We want our residents to be happy and settled. Our nursing staff are trained in palliative care and strive to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved, providing comfort and support; we also have links with specialist nurses.
All our facilities are backed by our caring and committed staff, who receive training from our in-house trainer.
Local doctors are regular visitors as are district nurses. Our Lay Chaplain, Mr Copeland McPherson, visits regularly along with clergy of various denominations and services are open to all. Our Activities Co-Ordinator ensures that there is a wide variety of activities for the residents to enjoy every month.
Finally, mealtimes and the selection of hot food we offer is of enormous importance to us – the quality and choice of food we offer is second to none.
Our cottages, situated close to Cherwood House, are overseen by a named member of staff 24 hours a day. Residents may take advantage of all services within Cherwood House or live as independently as they wish, whilst enjoying the security Cherwood House can offer. Our one or two bedded cottages benefit from a call bell system linked directly to our residential wing; help and support is never far away if so required.
