We provide nursing care to individuals with Dementia, Physical Disabilities, Sensory impairments, Respite, Palliative and End of Life Care. Our qualified nursing and care team offer 24 hours a day support with Mental Health.
Our residents have a wide and varying range of care needs. Many of our residents have physical care needs due to their medical conditions and difficulties with mobility but also require our emotional support daily to ensure they are stimulated and safe. It’s our positive attitude and core values that make us at Orton Manor Nursing Home such a success at what we do. We’re totally committed to maintaining the highest standards and work together as a team – while celebrating the differences that make people special as individuals.
Our Nursing Care is designed for older adults who find it increasingly difficult to manage without additional help and support. The main aim of our professional team of care staff at Orton Manor is to ensure that each one of our residents enjoys a fulfilling lifestyle tailored to their specific individual needs to enhance their quality of life where possible.
We ensure that all our Nursing and Care staff are provided with the on-going opportunities for learning and further development. We provide friendly, thoughtful care always with respect for everyone; our main concern is for the happiness and well-being of all our residents, focusing on their strengths and abilities rather than on their possible weaknesses or disabilities. Care for each resident is tailored to their personal life history whilst at the same time seeking involvement of their own family.
Orton Manor provides a varied activities program ensuring all our residents interests are catered for regardless of their abilities. Residents are encouraged to participate in various activities that will provide mental stimulation and increase their social interaction. Regular activities on offer include animal therapy, puzzles, food taster days, board games, arts and crafts, gardening, bingo, bright hour, and live entertainment from singers and pantomimes. Manicures, hand massages and pamper sessions are popular with our residents, helping them to stay calm and happy and we have a hairdresser who regularly provides an additional cost competitive service at the home. Friends and families are encouraged to join in with activities both in the home or out in the community. A weekly planned activity board is on display in the home and a monthly newsletter provided to all residents in their room. This is also on display in reception.
