Overview

Located at the foot of Hambledon Hill, Millbrook House is an elegant, spacious Georgian residence set in two acres of beautiful gardens in the North Dorset village of Child Okeford.

Our aim is to care for people who no longer wish to be troubled by the day to day chores of keeping a home, but want to enjoy the style of life they have always known. Millbrook House provides this, along with excellent care in a homely and loving atmosphere –a place that residents can really call “home”.

From excellent home cooking to individually decorated private rooms... life is tailored to you.

Millbrook is a large Georgian House which has been sensitively restored and extended to provide every modern amenity that Residents would expect. It is elegantly decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The rooms are close carpeted with the exception of the bathrooms and WCs. Three lifts give easy access to all floors.

Overall Millbrook House offers a general feeling of grandeur and spaciousness with plenty of opportunity for residents to enjoy quiet or shared time outside of their own private bedrooms. The unique feature of all of our reception rooms is that they overlook our beautiful gardens, providing an ever-changing view throughout the seasons.

We have 29 rooms, all bar two having en-suites. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission for 33 residents, giving the opportunity for four of our rooms to accommodate couples.

Your home from home...
Each bedroom has a fitted wardrobe, dressing table and comfortable divan style bed, although residents are encouraged to bring items of their own furniture if they wish. All bedrooms have a call bell, TV aerial, electrical outlets and private phone line. There is also a lockable safe to secure valuables. We also have two Parker baths for those who prefer the option of assisted bathing.

Some of our rooms offer particular features such as views of Hambledon Hill and of the garden. A selection of our larger premier rooms in the new extension have French doors leading directly on to the gardens.

Our gardens are a feature of which we are particularly proud. John, our gardener, works hard to maintain the borders and lawns to a high standard, also providing us with cut flowers for the house and fresh vegetables for the kitchen
