Overview

Thomas Knight Care Home is a residential and nursing home in the area of Blyth, which can accommodate just under 55 residents.
What Our Service Offers
The service is registered under the Health and Social Care Act (2008) with the Care Quality Commission for 54 beds. The Regulated Activities for Thomas Knight Care Home are: -
? Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care.
? Treatment of Disease, Disorder, or Injury
The service is inspected by the National regulator for England, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Northumberland County Council for who we are subcontracted to provide regulated care on their behalf
Bedrooms are sizes and designs that exceed minimum standard requirements, and all are en-suite. There are multiple communal lounges, dining areas, bathrooms, showers, wet rooms, and toilet facilities across each of our three floors.
Our care is embraced by our employees, their relatives, friends and advocates of residents and all those who come into contact with our service including visiting professionals. We also involve community-based support, as needed, requested and available.
Services provided to meet the needs of the people who use the Service:
Our service provides accommodation for those individuals who require nursing or residential care and live with physical and/or mental health needs, including specialised provision for those people living with a dementia or related syndrome.
The service provides long-term care as well as short term breaks (respite, holiday or rehabilitation) when the service has the capacity to do so. The aim of the staff team is to support residents (and relatives) throughout their stay, through working closely with all professionals involved in their care. This is expressed fully in our mission statement and our values commitments. The people who use our service will be actively encouraged to participate in all aspects of how our service is managed and developed.
Everyone will be encouraged and supported to exercise choice and control over their lives and in accessing the services needed to achieve their personal goals.
A Particular emphasis is placed upon what is known as person focused or person-centred care. The service provides nursing care, planned, delivered and overseen by qualified nursing staff supported by trained carers and personal care (residential) delivered and supervised by the snr care team leaders and supported by trained care staff and where required the inputs of community nurses and resources provided through the local authority.

Nursing or personal care is delivered across three dedicated floors. Our top floor – Auguste Community - is mostly for persons living with a dementia or related syndrome and the ground floor – Harmony Meadows is our general nursing provision.
The remainder of the service – our middle floor – Trinity Retreat - provides accommodation and care for a mixture of – personal care needs – for those with a dementia and those with no cognitive challenges but a greegree of frailty.
The Registered Manager and his close management team oversee the entire service. All staff will have received the appropriate induction and ongoing training for the aspects of care they deliver. Each floor has its own team with named dedicated leaders and a selection of champions (staff who receive extra training and have a degree of responsibility for certain care topics i.e. medicines, wound care, nutrition etc)

There are fully stocked, working kitchenettes on our first and 2nd floor and we provide a snoozelen room on our middle floor and have recently added a 'cafe' to our top floor
With an enclosed safe garden and local shops right on the door step this is the perfect setting for a modern, well presented care facility. It is fully staffed with nurses and carers and has a very high staff to resident ratio. We also plan to add a reminiscence room to our middle floor summer 2025 and we have recently partnered with the daily Sparkle to add a multitude of activity and occupational resources into the service such as reminiscence radio, daily reminiscence newspapers and hundreds of appropriate recordings, vidio's, films and guided relaxation videos

With a new management team in place and research led care, this is the perfect time to experience the new Thomas Knight
.
