Overview

Lever Edge Care Home in Bolton is perfectly placed for families and visitors as it’s within walking distance of a range of local shops and situated on a main bus route. Our purpose built; modern home is only two miles outside of Bolton Town centre and in the secure, quiet, residential location of Great Lever.
We understand that the needs of our residents living with dementia are different from those with general care needs, therefore, we ensure that we provide an individualised and personal approach to caring for our residents. Specialising in residential and residential dementia care, we have three spacious suites within our home, on the first floor we have the Turton Suite which provides care for those living with dementia and on the ground floor we have the Rivington Suite which provides 24-hour care for those clients with residential needs. Finally, The Bungalow, namely the Smithills Suite also provides care for residents living with dementia.
Lever Edge has 79 tastefully decorated bedrooms, including 2 companion rooms and all but 3 rooms have ensuite facilities. Residents are actively encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own furniture and belongings as we believe that this not only helps them feel more at home, but also aids our residents in settling into a new environment. Our wheelchair accessible rooms have internet access, TV aerial sockets and nurse call systems.
Our Bolton Home has a small shop and a car park for our residents, visitors and staff alike, newspaper orders and deliveries are also taken and received daily.
Meals times are protected, and we welcome friends and relatives to join our residents for meals in the home prepared on site by our team in the 5-Star kitchen. We cater for all celebrations of our residents and any dietary and cultural requirements they may have. We offer a wide choice of delicious home cooked meals so our residents will always find something to their taste and of course, we understand that sometimes they just want a quiet meal by themselves in the comfort of their room so we always give them this option. To ensure our residents don’t feel stuck in a rut, we have special themed meal nights, giving them a chance to do something different and fresh snacks, fruit and refreshments are available around the clock to ensuring they are never too peckish in between meals.
Lever Edge houses 5 communal lounges which are ideal for our residents to socialise together, or to spend time with visiting members of their family or friends. If our residents just want some peace during their day, we have a quiet lounge without any TVs or anything else to disturb the calm and quiet atmosphere. In the home, we have our own hair salon, creating perfect pampering opportunities meaning residents can keep on top of their hair dos right under their own roof and we host regular visits from healthcare practitioners such the dentist, optician and podiatrist. We also have a tea room to provide tranquil afternoons spent catching up with loved ones, or for the more social we have a very popular pub. Our kitchenette is free for both our residents and their visitors to use and our lift allows residents who may have mobility issues to access all our amenities.
We have an enclosed courtyard garden which encompasses raised flowerbeds and comfortable seating areas for our residents and their families to soak up the sun, or do some gardening. Our outside space is wheelchair accessible and also includes a secure and open patio area so everyone can enjoy the garden, especially during the events held during the summer months.
A range of activities designed around our residents’ choices are on offer, including games, arts and crafts and 1-1 pamper sessions and our dedicated activities coordinator takes residents on day trips to local beauty spots and into town to enjoy shopping, and lunch at local pubs and cafés.
