Overview
Our team at Lowther Road are fully trained and experienced in working with people with a range of complex needs associated with their learning disability. This includes supporting autistic people and also individuals who have epilepsy, mobility difficulties and Down’s syndrome.
Lowther Road is a home in the Charminster area of Bournemouth, which can accommodate four people we support. Our home is a detached property situated in a quiet residential area. We have a large kitchen-diner which encourages social interaction at meal times, four bedrooms – all with en-suite bathrooms (three bedrooms on the first floor and one on the ground floor) - as well as a quiet room. The ground floor rooms, conservatory and garden are fully accessible to those with mobility needs. Complementary therapy, massage, arts, crafts, relaxation and sensory sessions are available in-house on a daily basis. There are lots of activities the people we support take part in, these include: horse riding, sailing, canoeing, sports, art groups, social clubs, cinema, bowling, courses at local colleges and much more.
Lowther Road is situated around one mile from Bournemouth with its range of shops, leisure amenities and beaches. Bus stops and a train station are both within a mile so transport links to the wider Dorset area are very convenient. Also, the famous Jurassic Coast, market towns such as Dorchester and the beautiful New Forest are all within easy reach. The people we support access a variety of community based activities to support their development.
