Overview
Fairfield Country Rest Home is a home in the area of Bude, We are not a secure home, we hold an open door policy where movement is monitored but not restricted. we can accommodate 32 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC.
Care can be provided for those with dementia however the more complexed with some behaviour issues, we will assist you to find the most local care setting who might be better placed to manage their needs. A high number of staff are trained in Palliative and end of life care so we are happy to accept your loved ones from hospital or home that might need this level of care allowing you to spend time with them at this precious time in a less clinical environment.
Fairfield is set in 7 acres of its own grounds with gardens which are fully accessible to the residents and their families.
We encourage families to bring their pets in to visit and walk in the grounds. we just ask that dogs are kept on lead within the home itself. out in the gardens and paddock we ask you clear up after your dog thank you.
We have regular visits from podiatrist opticians dentist hairdresser and remedial masseur.
Each room has their own small en- suite but a large wet room is provided for a supported shower, our residents are asked how often they would want this when they enter the home.
Residents can furnish their rooms with furniture and pictures from home, we ask to list everything you bring in and let office have a copy. Expensive jewellery and items of sentimental value must be photograph and valued.
We have several rooms with ocean views we are fortunate our position set high on the hills on the Devon and Cornwall border allow us this. We are close to the town of Bude and Stratton with its huge array of shops, beautiful level canal walks and the beaches and sea pool and in the other direction only a short distance in to Devon and the market town of Holsworthy.
The home is family run private home and the manager lives on site and has been here 23 years.
We employ local staff from the surrounding towns and villages who we train up to a level to enable the best care possible.
Activities take place every afternoon on the premises and we have an assortment of Volunteer's who come in to the home and play an active role in this. The local churches support the residents with their religious beliefs and we hold both private and group services here at the home. The local parish church is just a short drive away.
We cook all the meals on the premises and most of our supplies are purchased locally. Residents can have magazines and newspapers and their individual key workers can take them shopping or purchase for them any items they require and bring them in.
We invite people to come for coffee and look round and have a chat with staff and residents and offer a trial stay before making that huge jump in to permanent care with us. We have recently set aside a respite room which can be booked in advance to allow a home carer/ partner to take a break while having their loved one taken care of safely in our lovely setting.
