Overview

All Hallows Neurological Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist residential rehabilitation for individuals aged 18 and over with an acquired brain injury (ABI) or spinal cord injury (SCI). We also support a small number of individuals who have been diagnosed with other complex conditions, for example; a functional neurological disorder (FND) or Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS). All Hallows Neuro Rehabilitation Centre is a residential and nursing home in the Ditchingham area of Bungay, which can accommodate 25 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC.
Neurological Rehabilitation is a dynamic process which requires a highly specialist team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive assessment and treatment in a dedicated rehabilitation environment, with specialist facilities. Rehabilitation goals and objectives are identified by the multidisciplinary team and resident collaboratively to fully inform a relevant, holistic, personalised treatment and therapy programme which aims to achieve the highest level of function and independence, following injury. We also seek to maximise mental wellbeing, which includes elements that are key to optimum functioning and independence, such as life satisfaction, optimism, self-esteem, feeling in control, having a purpose in life and a sense of belonging.
Individuals suitable for All Hallows will be medically stable and have the ability to participate in, and benefit from, rehabilitation. They are likely to be referred for Level 2 rehabilitation services and have category A or B needs. Rehabilitation programmes are usually 12 weeks in duration, however; every individual is unique, therefore; timescales will vary. Recognised clinical outcome measures, such as FIM + FAM (functional independence measure + functional assessment measure) are used, in line with local and national standards. Review meetings take place with commissioners every 4 weeks to measure and evidence progress and redefine goals. Close liaison is maintained with the family or carers and the community teams to consider timescales to facilitate a safe transition back to the community. All Hallows has 4 transitional living flats which provide the perfect environment to observe a persons true level functioning and independence (without prompts or instructions) and risk assess, for example; kitchen safety awareness, in environment that more closely represents “home”. The multidisciplinary team can then consolidate skills and identify areas that require adaptation in order to regain independence or develop strategies to manage residual impairments
