Overview

The Grange Residential Home is located at 30 Vinery Road, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 2JT, we are a 9 bedded Residential home, we currently have capacity for 2 new residents - we have 2 bedrooms available upstairs, this rooms can be designed to the liking of our new resident, we encourage the residents to bring some of their own furniture and their personal belongings - photos, Television, pictures, etc. we are a Residential Care Home providing care and support for residents with learning disabilities and Autism, We provide 24 hour care - We encourage our residents to remain independent but with support from our staff, we have 2 members of staff on shift to offer support - 7am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 9 pm, 1 member of staff from 9 pm to 7 am for waking nights.

we provide support with personal care, medication, assisting with preparing lunch/pack ups for any resident going out, we provide a cooked meal in the evening which the staff prepare in the main kitchen - all residents are involved with the weeks menu, our resident's have a smaller kitchen were they are able to make their own tea's/coffee's, cold drinks, our residents prepare their own lunches with support if required.

Support staff assist all the residents with laundry - our residents will assist the staff to hang the washing out if the weather is nice, on a wet day we have a dryer which we will use or an airer which the resident will assist to hang clothes on, all of our resident take part in indoor activities - in door bowling, bingo. art's and craft, jigsaw or board games we have a variety available.

Support staff assist our resident with cleaning their rooms - dusting, hoovering - under the beds, changing the bed linen, tidy their wardrobes and chest of draws, checking for toiletries - shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, lotion, tooth paste, etc.

We have a large garden with a summer house, our resident like to sit out side on the chairs and tables or sit in the summer house, we host family get togethers where all the families are invited for a BBQ depending on weather, we have a people carrier with wheelchair access, some of our resident's go to clubs during the week. In our lounge we have the availability to which movies - we have loads of DVD's so plenty of choice.
