Holly Lodge is an award-winning purpose-built dementia care home, combining 24-hour residential and nursing dementia care with exemplary hospitality for up to 60 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Winner of ‘Nursing Home of the Year’ at the Surrey Care Awards 2022 and featured in Knight Frank’s Luxury Care Home Guide 2021, 2022 and 2023. Described as ‘Heartwarming’ by Caring UK Award Judges and praised for their daily goal of making residents and relatives smile and for the service, views and needs of people living with dementia at the home's core.
Purpose built and innovatively designed throughout to enhance multi-sensory stimulation, Holly Lodge accommodates people living with dementia and encourages reminiscence. All elements at Holly Lodge cultivate calming and stimulating environments; soft furnishings of varying textures allow residents to easily distinguish between items, and contrasting tones and colourful digital wallpapers are incorporated into the interior décor for visual stimulus.
Situated in its own landscaped gardens and framed by a forest, residents enjoy woodland views from their luxury bedrooms equipped with ensuite facilities. There are spacious communal areas for entertaining and dining, a dedicated activities room, onsite hair salon, Holly Bush pub, gallery, family room, cinema, and alcove lounges for residents and their loved ones to enjoy. The family room is a great space for an afternoon tea, to play table-top games or to celebrate a special milestone and can be booked for private dining experiences and events.
Outside, landscaped gardens and a tranquil courtyard provide spaces for relaxation, complete with a sensory garden for residents to independently explore. The outdoor aviary is interactive, with vibrant flowers and raised herb gardens allowing residents to touch, smell and eat different plants. Holly Lodge even cultivates honey from its own beehives.
Good nutrition and hydration are vital for the health and wellbeing of residents, Holly Lodge’s talented catering team provide freshly prepared meals onsite every day, using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
The activities team deliver a fun, varied and engaging weekly schedule of therapeutic and multi-sensory activities for residents in accordance with their assessed needs, wishes and cultural interests. This includes one-to-one activities and activities tailored for residents who are less mobile and able.
As a member of NAPA, (a leading activity and engagement charity), the team continuously prioritise wellbeing with meaningful activities such as birthday and anniversary tea parties, pampering days, music therapy, arts & crafts, visiting entertainers and Pets as Therapy, along with a variety of themed events and cultural days. Activities are tailored towards the individual and supported by life story work.
Holly Lodge has partnered with Famileo to create personalised newsletters for residents, so residents and their loved ones can share messages, happy memories, photos, and updates from their day-to-day life.
Holly Lodge has a strong sense of community, but residents are always free to choose where and how they spend their time. Family and friends are welcome at any time.
