Overview
Churchfield Avenue provides quality care and support for eight people with learning and physical disabilities, autism, Cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy and mental health needs.
Our newly refurbished home has widened corridors and a lift, providing wheelchair friendly accessibility for those that need it. We have spacious communal areas such as a dining room and kitchen, providing space to spend time together and enjoy meals. We also have two bathrooms in our home, one of which has been adapted for accessibility purposes with rails and ceiling tracking, providing additional support for those with the relevant needs. Our large garden provides a great space for soaking up the sun and taking part in social activities. Everyone living at Churchfield Avenue is encouraged to actively look after their home, by getting involved in daily living tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
At Churchfield Avenue, we have a bus stop directly outside of the property which offers convenient access to Cambridge. We also have a minibus available for fun trips to the cinema and the bowling alley. A short walk away, you can find a pub, a library, a café, and plenty of local shops. The people we support are encouraged to participate in a range of activities both inside the home and within the local community. Some of the activities we get up to include coffee mornings, a cinema club with other local homes, holistic therapy, music therapy and even health and beauty treatments. We enjoy parties, arts and crafts, making music together and we regularly host karaoke sessions! Every Friday night we also attend Friday night club as well as other social evenings at a local community centre called Horizons.
