Overview
Victory Care Home provides a safe and homely environment within a real village community, delivering high-quality care and support for its residents.
Situated in the heart of Chatham, we are positioned within easy reach of all local amenities such as; convenience stores, GP practice, a library and Chatham high street.
Our home was purpose-built as a care home in 1984 so all our communal spaces and bedrooms are on one accessible floor. Our building is divided into four ‘wings’, all named after ships that were at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
Social activities
We place great emphasis on social activities and maintaining the type of life you have had at home, whether that is a quiet and relaxed lifestyle or an active lifestyle.
We love music and singing at Victory, with regular singers and guitarists coming in. On Fridays we have movement and music sessions.
We have strong links with our local schools. Primary and junior school pupils come in to sing, and students from Bradfields Academy, a local special school, come in to maintain one of our gardens.
Our most popular activity is probably the twice-weekly visit from the therapy dogs. All of our residents love it when the dogs come to visit – they make us all very happy.
Dining
At Victory Care Home you will be served freshly prepared home cooked meals by our team of expert chefs. They ensure all our meals are healthy, nutritionally balanced and, most importantly, locally sourced wherever possible. Meals are served in our superb dining room, but you also have the option for food to be served in your room for a more private dining experience.
Nutrition is an important part of the care we provide. That’s why our catering team take time to get to know your likes and dislikes before putting together a vibrant and varied menu for you to choose from.
Bedrooms
There are 51 single bedrooms for people living at Victory. All our rooms have ensuites or washbasins in the room. Rooms without ensuites have accessible toilets and bathrooms nearby. Many of the bedrooms look out onto one of our three courtyard gardens.
The bedrooms are a blank canvas for you to personalise with your own photos, pictures and furniture to help you feel at home. It also helps our care team understand what’s important to you, help in building a warm relationship.
Gardens
We have three lovely enclosed and secure courtyard gardens with planters and raised beds for flowers and vegetables, plus plenty of room to sit out. Our residents love to watch the wildlife in the garden – we have bird feeders and bug hotels. There’s a summerhouse and wind chimes in our sensory garden which is an ideal spot to spend an afternoon relaxing.
