Overview

We specialise in offering residential, residential dementia, nursing, nursing dementia, respite and end of life care.

Purpose built, Barnfield Nursing Care Home is situated in the village of Holmewood near Chesterfield, conveniently located near local shops and public transport routes. Our modern home always has a warming welcome to our new and existing residents and their families.
Our team is available around the clock should residents require any assistance and individual care plans ensure their specific needs are catered for thus providing peace of mind for their loved ones. The dedicated Manager and staff pride themselves on the care and attention they provide to both the residents and their families and make it their priority to provide the physical and emotional support needed from when they move in and through their subsequent time with us.
We provide 31 single rooms with ensuite facilities and 4 shared rooms for those who prefer company. All rooms are wheelchair accessible and include internet access, TV aerial sockets for residents to use at their will, and of course, nurse call systems for their safety and wellbeing. We also encourage the people who reside with us to personalise their rooms with items of furniture, photographs, memorabilia and even their pets, by arrangement, in the hope that this will make their new room feel more like their own.
Meals times at Barnfield are protected, and we welcome friends and relatives to join our residents for meals in the home prepared on site by our team in the 5-Star kitchen. We cater for all celebrations of our residents and any dietary and cultural requirements they may have. We offer a wide choice of delicious home cooked meals so our residents will always find something to their taste and of course, we understand that sometimes they just want a quiet meal by themselves in the comfort of their room so we always give them this option. To ensure our residents don’t feel stuck in a rut at mealtimes, we have special themed meal nights, giving residents a chance to do something different and fresh snacks, fruit and refreshments are available around the clock ensuring our residents are never too peckish in between meals.
Our range of living areas means our residents are never short of somewhere within the home to relax and be content. The option of 2 communal lounges and two quiet lounges means that not everyone has to socialise if they just want some peace. We have a kitchenette for residents and their visitors to use as well as a lift where required. Our relatives’ room provides a perfect opportunity for them to catch up with their families and the TV room and conservatory both create the perfect opportunity for our residents to unwind.
Outdoors, our wheelchair accessible lawned garden has raised flowerbeds and comfortable seating areas for residents to take advantage of, especially in the summer months.
We provide a range of motivating and entertaining activities designed around our residents’ choices and our dedicated activities coordinator takes residents on day trips to local beauty spots and into town to enjoy shopping, and lunch at local pubs and cafés.
