Holmewood Care Home specialises in residential and residential dementia, we also offer the following short stay services; respite care, reablement support and discharge to assess.
We are located on the outskirts of Chesterfield in Derbyshire and is next door to our sister home, Barnfield Home. Our purpose built home lies within a residential location and is within walking distance of local amenities.
Our caring staff team is constantly available around the clock should residents require any assistance. An individual care plan is put in place that will communicate any specific needs and support for the residents and their family’s peace of mind. We pride ourself on the care and attention we provide to our residents and their families, to ensure that the physical and emotional support needed is given right from the beginning and throughout their time with us.
We have 37 rooms including 25 with en-suite facilities, 12 of which have wash basins, and shared rooms for those who prefer company. All rooms offer internet access as well as TV aerial and phone sockets for our residents to communicate with their loved ones. All are wheelchair accessible and include call systems, and they are welcome to bring in their own furniture and accessories, furthermore we even offer residents the option to pick the colour of their room to make them feel at home and ease their transition into care.
We can arrange daily newspaper orders and deliveries for our residents, there is free car parking for anyone visiting the home and we welcome pets into our home as we appreciate the positive benefits pet therapy can bring.
We cater for all celebrations that our residents may wish to share, as well as any dietary or cultural requirements which anyone may have. Friends and family are always welcome to join our residents at meal times, creating perfect catch-up opportunities for everyone as you sit down together to our choice of two meals. Our meal times are protected and we give our residents the option to have their meals in the comfort of their own room. We also have special and themed meal nights and offer fresh snacks, fruit and refreshments all day long. Holmewood care home in Derbyshire boasts a 5* food hygiene rating.
Our living areas consist of 2 communal lounges for our residents to relax and enjoy each other’s company, there is also a hair salon and pamper room for them take full advantage of.
Outside, we have a large landscaped garden with raised flower beds which blossom beautifully in the summer months. We also have wheelchair accessibility and comfortable seating areas, including a balcony for residents so that everyone can bask in the sun during warm summer days and enjoy our BBQ’s.
