Wansbeck Care Home also offers the following short stay services; respite care, day care and has a specialised unit for male residents with specific behaviour needs. Wansbeck provides a home from home environment with highly trained, experienced staff who provide the highest quality of care. The care home is within a 2 minute walk to the nearest pub, it being just at the end of the drive. At Wansbeck we have great community links with MIND active, Smile thought sport, Julie and her Ukulele, singer Darren Foster and Northeast producers who all spend time entertaining our residents and whom the residents really enjoy spending time with. We have an extensive activities plan that caters and provides activities such as skittles, boules, knit and natter, Bingo and arts and crafts for our more discerning ladies and gents and sensory activities such as Namaste for our residents with dementia and other mental and physical ailments. We have Lindsay our hairdresser who visits the home each Friday and whom all of the residents love. We have a greenhouse on site where residents and their families can plant and grow a variety of things from flowers to vegetables and herbs.
