Overview

Hames Hall dates to the late 18th century and is a most impressive Grade II listed building situated on the outskirts of Cockermouth. Approached by a tree lined drive and set in almost 5 acres of mature grounds, there are secluded gardens which can be enjoyed by the residents at all times and the elevated position of the Hall provides views over the river Cocker, surrounding countryside and the Lakeland fells beyond.

The Hall is owned and managed by Cumbria Nursing Services Ltd. Following extensive building work, construction and alterations the Hall was totally revamped and refurbished prior to opening in March 1990.

The Hall is registered to accommodate 25 residents, both male and female, in 21 single and 2 twin bedrooms, 18 of which have ensuite bathrooms and 5 of which are fitted with vanity units, 10 being located on the ground floor and 13 located on the first floor. Each bedroom is centrally heated, has a nurse call system, smoke alarm detectors, telephone and TV points. The rooms are tastefully furnished; however, residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture should they so wish.

There is a very impressive reception hall and lobby, a beautiful south facing lounge and a superb dining room. A large conservatory has been restored to provide a comfortable sun lounge.

The home has 2 bathrooms, 1 on each floor. The downstairs is a wetroom whilst upstairs is fitted with a Hydrotherapy Hydraulic jacuzi bath

A 5-person passenger lift is installed for those who are unable to use the stairs. Grab rails and other aids are provided as required following an individual assessment of needs.

The home provides access to a minibus for outings, shopping and associated trips, which will aid the individual to be able to socialise and give added interest to outdoor activities. Transport can be provided for health care appointments. - Hames Hall has a 'Good' rating from the CQC.
