Overview
Situated in the heart of the peaceful Surrey village of Ewhurst, our 36-bed converted country house, set in mature gardens, offers round-the-clock nursing support within a safe, nurturing environment that enables residents to feel both at ease, and at home. We have a "Good" rating from the CQC and are able to offer both long term and short term stays, including respite and post operative recovery.
Retaining all of the character of its country house origins, The Old Rectory’s calm and tranquil atmosphere immediately makes an impression on residents and visitors alike. Each of our bedrooms are fully furnished and features an en suite toilet, wash basin and complimentary WiFi, with separate shower and bathroom facilities. However, your room is a place to call your own, so feel free to bring some of your own familiar belongings and furniture with you and make your new home here, with us. Many of the ground floor suites have patio doors that open onto our beautiful gardens, whilst the larger, first-floor bedrooms enjoy far reaching views across the Surrey Hills. Everything you may need is within easy reach and our friendly staff are on call 24 hours a day to ensure continuity of care, meaning you can relax, safe in the knowledge that you have our personal attention at all times.
Mealtimes are an important part of the day at The Old Rectory, affording an opportunity to engage in the warmth of good conversation or quietly reflect on the day ahead.
In our cosy dining room, you may sit at your preferred table or join the throng of communal dining whilst you enjoy a delicious three-course meal of hearty and traditional, home-cooked fare.
And when friends and family come to visit, they are welcome to join you for lunch or supper for a nominal fee, and partake of the family atmosphere to be found there.
A rich and varied programme of activities aimed at stimulating both mind and body offers residents the opportunity to stay active and entertained, whilst building new friendships or simply having fun!
Regular activities include: film and documentary screenings, live entertainment, arts and crafts classes, baking, gardening, and board games, amongst many others. There are also visits to places of interest, and our beautiful grounds play host to a number of annual community events such as Bonfire Night, a Christmas fair, or our Summer Luncheon on the lawn. Our brimming social calendar ensures there is always something to do at The Old Rectory for those who wish to stay active.
Our lounges and communal areas reflect the peaceful, unhurried pace of life at The Old Rectory, where all may come together to enjoy the myriad of activities on offer, or simply relax, undisturbed, with a newspaper or book. You may also choose to invite your visitors for afternoon tea in the elegant Drawing Room with its open-plan conservatory, or retire to the Garden Room where the patio doors open out on to delightful views of the grounds.
