Overview
Nestled in the heart of Crewkerne, The Orchards stands proudly on the grounds of the former Plainsfield Children’s home. Undergoing expansion and modernisation in 2012, it has transformed into a contemporary, purpose-built care home providing 24/7 nursing care.
The town's shops, churches, swimming pool, gym and library are all on our doorstep and within easy walking distance. The site also has access to ample parking, making it easily accessible.
Choosing the right home for your loved one is paramount. At The Orchards, we are committed to delivering comprehensive and high-level care in a warm and welcoming environment. Our round-the-clock nursing services ensure constant support, assuring you that your loved ones are in capable hands.
Our open-door visiting policy encourages family and friends to drop by at any time. The modern layout provides ample space for social interaction and privacy, with separate lounges, a dining room, and spacious gardens featuring raised flower beds. A diverse activity and entertainment program, including local excursions, ensures an engaging environment. We maintain close ties with Henhayes Community Centre, expanding the range of enjoyable activities for our residents.
Personalising living spaces is encouraged, allowing residents to bring in personal items and furniture to create a familiar and comfortable atmosphere. All bedrooms boast ensuite facilities and a television, and telephone points can be installed in each room.
Additional services such as personal laundry and hairdressing enhance the overall experience. For those looking for a short-term change of environment, our day care service not only allows caregivers to attend to daily errands but also provides residents with socialisation opportunities and access to additional services, especially beneficial for those with limited mobility.
