A Description of the Clova House Residential Home
Clova House Residential Home is situated in Shelton Lock on the main Chellaston Road, approximately ten minutes from the local town center. There is a convenience store across the road from the home. With a chip shop and a hair dressers , The nearest bus stop is across the road where transport is available to take you into the town of Derby, where by you can get a bus to Burton on Trent or the larger shopping complexes and facilities of Nottingham City Center. Many residents with family and friends have taken advantage of these facilities.
Clova House Residential Care Home is registered with the CQC and provides accommodation for up to twenty residents. There are four double rooms, twelve single bedrooms each with their own washing facilities some rooms have en-suits. All the rooms are centrally heated and are connected to a nurse call system for the benefit and safety of the residents. There is CCTV operating in most of the communal areas of the home both internal and external on the entry to the car park for both crime prevention and to enhance the safety of our residents. The décor and furnishings are maintained to a high standard so as to provide attractive and comfortable living conditions; however, we do encourage residents to bring in smaller articles of their furniture, pictures and ornaments to personalize their rooms. There is a ‘quiet lounge’ this is often used by our residents when they want to be in a smaller lounge, there is a large open plan lounge and dining area and there is a nice garden area with tables and chairs and benches where residents and visitors can spend time during the summer months, we have a 3 person lift to take you to the first floor
To the front of the property there is 6 parking spaces for visitors and staff.
there are Various activities organized within the home such as art and exercise classes as well as the weekly Bingo. Other facilities such as hairdresser, chiropodist, Dentist and community nurses regularly visit the home.
We welcome any religious visits and any residents wishing to attend other religious ceremonies outside the home are actively encouraged to do so, accompanied either by their own relatives or yourself if you are able.
just because you will live in a home to support you that doesn't mean everything has to stop, we encourage family and friends to visit to go out with you, so you still enjoy the things you have always done.
