Overview
Bennfield house is an adapted house built in 1913 and has been a nursing home for 40 years, and has achieved a number of nursing awards over those years. Bennfield House is owned and operated by a single provider, Penny Bennett, Registered Nurse and Queens Nurse. She has a dedicated management team: Clare, Dorina and Donna, who always go the extra mile. We are a residential and nursing home in the Thorne area of Doncaster, which can accommodate for 27 residents - it has an Outstanding rating in responsive and Good in all other areas, resulting in an overall 'Good' rating from the CQC.
Care can be provided for those with general nursing needs, dementia, mental health and end of life care needs. The age range is from 18 to 0ver 65.
Bennfield House also offers the following short stay services; long term, respite care, reablement support and discharge to assess. Our main aim is for you to be comfortable, safe and happy, cared for by dedicated nurses, care staff, catering staff and housekeeping. Bennfield House is homely, and bright with a warm atmosphere. Relatives are always welcome and we want you to feel part of our family, because this is what we do. This is what we have done for a very long time.
Within the local area we are close by to the local shops, supermarkets, public transport, with a bus stop right out side the home and the train station is a 10minute walk away. There are also near by cafe's and pubs, hair salons/beauty salons and a local bank. Bennfield house provides all meals from the award winning Apetito, we also have snacks available throughout the day, with home made baking by our own Chefs.
Bennfield house has a registered nurse on duty 24hours a day together with a number of care staff for all your nursing and care needs. You will be nominated with a named nurse who will support you through your time here, along with a carer who will be your key worker. Throughout the day you can participate in a number of activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, bingo, themed days, trips out in the community we also have a tiny tablet that all can enjoy a mixture of fun and games on. We have a guest WIFI available to residents and families if needed. Guest entertainers will visit throughout the year, to sing with you, and to keep your vocal chords and your dancing skills active.
The local Vicar does visit and carries out Religious services in house.
We have a large garden with summer house, and also a smaller patio garden, both of which have lovely garden furniture, and parasols, for all to enjoy You can help with the maintenance, flower potting and vegetable growing if you wish.
