Overview

Abbotts Court Care Home, in the village of Wheatley Hill, is close to the historical city of Durham. Abbotts Court provides residential and dementia care to the Durham area.
Abbotts Court has 47 single bedrooms, of which 24 have en suite facilities, across three floors and residents can feel even more at home here if they want to use their own furniture. There is a lift, ground floor rooms and wheelchair access in addition to Wi-Fi throughout the home.
There are modern dining rooms and comfortable lounges on the ground and first floors, giving residents choice of where to spend their time.
Abbotts Court has secure gardens to the side and rear of the building which are used to host outdoor events, such as the popular summer fayre, which brings the local community together with its barbecues, bouncy castles and live music.
The rear garden has raised planting beds for green-fingered residents to grow their own produce. A pergola shelters those who prefer to watch the gardeners at work.
Abbotts Court staff receive extensive training which is refreshed every year to ensure they provide the best possible care for residents.
Staff have close professional relationships with community teams to develop individualised, person-centred plans of care for every resident.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated Abbotts Court Care Home 'Good' in all areas - May 2022, reviewed July 2023.
