Overview
Amelia House is a two-storey property that has a total of 19 single bedrooms, the majority of which have en-suite facilities. The Home also offers spacious communal accommodation which includes two large lounges, a large dining room and secure outdoor spaces. There is a passenger lift which ensures that all areas of the property can be easily accessed by each resident. The Home has a laundry room enabling all laundry requirements to be carried out on-site.
Food plays a big part in the day-to-day lives of our residents at Amelia House.
Our cooks are very passionate about ensuring each resident is provided with a personalised approach to their dietary needs and preferences by giving them the opportunity to discuss their requirements with them directly.
All specific dietary requirements can be catered for.
At Amelia House, we have an extensive daily activities plan. This includes activities such as board games, sing-a-longs, arts & crafts, reading, armchair exercise, and reminiscence. We have weekly live entertainment from our visiting singer/guitarist. Also, other professionals such as group exercise classes and entertainment providers such as theatre companies, visit the Home on a regular basis.
Amelia House is a family-run residential care home on the outskirts of Exeter. The Home is just two miles from the city centre yet maintains a rural feel due to its surrounding trees, mature spacious garden, and neighbouring fields.
The proprietors, along with their dedicated team, are passionate about ensuring the Home continues to provide the highest standards of care and quality of life for all its residents.
Those who come to Amelia House can benefit from the services of St Thomas Health Centre, our visiting podiatrist, optician, and hairdresser. Those who wish to make their own arrangements for these services are, of course, able to do so.
