Cordelia House Care Home provides a safe and homely environment within a real village community. Situated in the heart of Fareham, a quaint market town 20 minutes away from the historic city of Portsmouth.
We provide high-quality residential, respite and end of life care for older people, including those with dementia, sensory loss or mental health care needs. As your needs change, so does the level and type of care we deliver. Our team are specially trained to provide as little or as much high-quality care as you need.
There are several lounges and dining areas throughout the home, plus a large garden and enclosed paved courtyards, with plenty of outdoor furniture to sit out on sunny days with a cup of tea.
As well as caring for you we care about your families too. Our door is always open for a chat, and our residents’ and families’ forum gives you a way to support each other. Plus, your family members are welcome in at any time, for a cuppa, or to join us for a meal.
Social activities
We place great emphasis on social activities and maintaining the type of life you have had at home, whether that is a quiet and relaxed lifestyle or an active lifestyle. Located just 20 minutes from Portsmouth, the historic naval base is a popular choice amongst our residents for trips out. This is usually followed by fish and chips on Portsmouth harbour. Animal visits are always popular – goats, pigs, rabbits, ducks – they can be sure of a warm welcome at Cordelia House. We also have a resident cat – Kitty who’s always up for a stroke and a cuddle. We have fortnightly visits from a local nursery in Fareham and we love joining in with arts and crafts, singing, stories, ‘show and tell’ and garden activities with the children.
Dining
At Cordelia House Care Home you will be served freshly prepared home-cooked meals by our team of expert chefs. They ensure all our meals are healthy, nutritionally balanced and, most importantly, locally sourced wherever possible. Meals are served in our superb dining room, but you also have the option for food to be served in your room for a more private dining experience.
Nutrition is an important part of the care we provide. That’s why our catering team take time to get to know your likes and dislikes before putting together a vibrant and varied menu for you to choose from.
Bedrooms
There are 36 comfortable bedrooms for people living at Cordelia House, across the ground floor and the first floor. Most of our rooms have ensuites and the two bedrooms without ensuites have a washbasin in the room and an accessible bathroom nearby. Some of our rooms have stunning views of our garden.
The bedrooms are a blank canvas for you to personalise with your own photos, pictures and furniture to help you feel at home. It also helps our care team understand what’s important to you, helps in building a warm relationship.

Gardens
We have a lovely enclosed and secure garden with level walkways around the lawn and flowerbeds.
Our garden is a great spot for activities and eating outside. There’s plenty of space to sit out and a patio area with extra tables and chairs.
