Overview
Overlooking acreage of natural beauty, Surrey Heights is nestled in the peaceful village of Wormley, and offers residential care for up to 39 people.
Surrey Heights supports people living with a variety of complex dementia types including Alzheimers, Vascular Dementia, Early-Onset and Frontal Lobe dementia’s. In addition, the service is unique in its provision of care to younger people living with Korsakoffs, Wernickes Encephalopathy and Alcohol related brain injury. Staff at Surrey Heights are able to support people with these conditions to live in a way that encourages independence, control over their lives and maintaining a sense of community and has strong links with in-reach therapy and outreach community services.
The service places a high focus on wellbeing as well as learning or maintaining functional life skills such as cooking/ baking, socialising, shopping and household tasks.
We recognise that people living in a care setting who have a diagnosis of dementia can sometimes feel lost, restricted or anxious. The service strives to ensure that people feel like they are at home, where people are treated like family, not residents.
