Overview

Welcome to Grange Cottage. We are a small, privately owned residential care home that prides itself on a home-from-home environment. We offer a person-centred approach, from social support to advanced dementia and palliative care. We are well situated in the Edwardian town of Grange over Sands in Cumbria, on the southern edge of the Lake District in the Cartmel Peninsular that sits overlooking Morecambe Bay. ??

We are in the province of South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) and registered with Cumbria County Council (CCC).

OUR PHILOSOPHY
We focus on our residents' happiness through individualised person-centered care; delivered by carers who understand the importance of sensitivity, dignity and the value of personal connections; led by management who maintains an environment where good care flourishes; and is supported by an establishment that is homely and relaxed.

We ensure our residents feel valued, respected and enabled to explore their independence and have their rights upheld within a safe and stimulating environment, that includes their family and community links that support the individual. It is lovely to support those who can independently access the community, walk along the Prom overlooking the Bay, visit local cafes and shops in the town of Grange over Sands, and have access to multiple places of worship within walking distance of the Care Home.
?
We provide care that treats all with dignity, compassion and respect. We support our residents’ emotional, physical and health care needs in line with their wishes and best interests, through the support within our “extended family” home. This includes support right to the end of their life, delivering a “Gold Standard” of care incorporating management of symptoms, and the provision of psychological, social, and spiritual support, collaborating with community health professionals and enabling our residents who make Grange Cottage their home, have their needs wishes and preferences supported through their final stage of life with dignity and care.
