Overview
- The Meadows Residential Care Home is a home in Greenford, which accommodates 25 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC for all fundamental standards of care.
- Care is provided round the clock to those with or without dementia.
- The Home has been upgraded throughout from top to bottom in the last 2 years after Covid. During the pandemic, we were successful in preventing the virus from entering the Home, until the very end of the 2nd year when NHS professions brought the virus in during the time of mass immunisation. However, through enforcing rigorous cleaning practices and careful application of safe infection control practices, we were very successful in containing the virus from spreading and therefore avoided any loss of life to staff, residents and visitors.
- The presentation of the Home since its upgrade has made it very attractive and awesome looking with the installation of a new porch, redesigned lobby area, a cinema room, a hairdressing saloon and a new extended lounge and extended dining room. We installed skylights in the lounge and dining areas to bring in more daylight, complimented with landscaped rear gardens and a new car park at the front of the building.
- The kitchen is refitted with new industrial appliances all through with new work surfaces. The reviews the Home we continuously receive from relatives and posted on the national website (www.carehome.co.uk) excels all expectations, and we are proud to be so efficient in all of our endeavours. We have a very close and professional relationship with all residents, relatives and professionals which in turn generates comfort, confidence, stability, satisfaction and trust.
- We have housekeepers employed to keep the Home at a level of cleanliness no dissimilar to the standard of a 5* hotel. The Home is odourless and all efforts are made to keep it as such day and night, 7 days a week.
- All our food is cooked on site by a team of very committed catering staff and our residents are able to taste authentic food as we celebrate all national festivals irrespective of the presence of relevant ethnic group in occupancy at the Home, or not, i.e., Chinese New Year.
- There is a programme of daily activities to residents facilitated by a full-time Activity Coordinator, complimented with an outside performer who provide live 1070s music, singing with a guitar every Saturday afternoon, when residents would join in with dancing merrily on the floor in the communal area.
- All our bedrooms have ensuite facilities and modern furniture. The communal area and dining room also boost new flooring, tables and comfortable easy chairs.
- The Meadows has an exceptional reputation in the local area and across the Borough of Ealing. We do not operate a waiting list since any vacancy that comes up gets offered to prospective clients on a first come first served basis. A lot of our clients choose to wait and make contact with us daily to check our bed situation. Bed vacancies are very far and few and they get taken up as soon as they become available. Residents undergo a comprehensive assessment at the point of admission and a care plan to address all needs are devised together with the client and their relatives. All efforts are made not to disrupt the client's routine from home.
- All prospective residents also undergo individual risk assessments to ascertain how risks get managed safely.
- We do not operate with any restriction over visiting times as we operate with total transparency; however we ask that visitors refrain from visiting during meal times and during protected times when residents are getting up in the morning or when they are going to bed at night.
- All bedrooms have ensuite facilities and are equipped with new sanitary ware, new floor covering, new furniture, up to date double glazed windows, and spot lights to the ceilings.
- All communal areas have amtico flooring fitted to the floor to render the Home attractive and inviting.
- The garden is landscaped, and laid in part with large tiles & synthetic grass; and it boosts the latest garden furniture and a gazebo to influence outside activities. Residents partake in gardening at their choice in a raised flower bed.
- The roof has been reinforced with new joists and insulated with the latest technology to retain heat, complimented with a complete re-tiling all round.
- Solar panels are installed to ensure that power is never disrupted day or night.
- A car park at the front of the Home facilitates visiting at all hours of the day without fear of getting fined during restricted times for parking outside the Home.
- The Home has CCTV cameras in operation in all communal areas. This aids the monitoring of resident's and staff movement in and around the Home and provide extra security against intruders into the Home and maximises the safety of the residents.
- A nurse call system operates in all bedrooms and toilets.
