Overview
Little Brocklesby House, set in 9 acres of woodland, is a comfortable home in the Great Limber area of Grimsby which can accommodate 36 residents, including 3 double rooms specifically for married couples or siblings. Under new ownership since 2020, it has had nearly £850k investment to include a new extension with a much larger lounge and garden room which leads onto a large patio terrace.
It has a 'Good' rating in all 5 care categories from CQC. Specifically person centred care can be provided for those over 50 years of age, with dementia, strokes, diabetes, bariatric care needs, stoma and peg feed care, palliative care, frailty both physical and mental care such as bi-polar. Little Brocklesby House also offers the following short stay services; respite care and rehabilitation and day care.
Brocklesby aims to provide a stimulating environment both inside and outside the home, with specifically tailored activities in order to try and preserve independence for as long as possible. For those for whom traditional activities fail to stimulate, Brocklesby has it's own Namaste programme which is a sensory programme devised during project work, led by Professor Dawn Brooker MBE of Worcester University and the owner, which was funded by Alzheimer's UK.
Residents are encouraged to have a say in how the home runs and the Residents' Committee decides on matters such as seasonal menus, decor, and external entertainment.
