Overview
Since 1983, Yarborough House has been a cornerstone of the community, providing exceptional residential care for the elderly and extending its services to the local community. Registered to accommodate 25 residents, Yarborough House specialises in caring for those in the Older Persons (OP) and Dementia (DE) categories. Our environment fosters progressive support while preserving the independence of each individual.
The homely ambiance of Yarborough House is often praised by residents and their families. The building spans two levels - ground and first floor, with a passenger lift ensuring easy accessibility between floors. We prioritise accommodating residents who rely on wheelchairs on the ground floor, wherever possible and with the resident’s agreement. However, all rooms and communal areas are wheelchair accessible.
Our 22 bedrooms are tastefully decorated and fully furnished. We encourage residents to bring smaller articles of furniture, a television, pictures, and ornaments to personalise their rooms. Each room is equipped with a washbasin (some have an en-suite facility), a nurse call system, and radiators with individual thermostatic controls. Additionally, every bedroom has been recently fitted with state-of-the-art fall detection technology, enabling staff to be quickly and automatically alerted in the event of a fall.
The home features two bathrooms, including a specially designed wet room, and several toilets accessible to all. Our front lounge serves as the social hub of the home, where residents can meet, socialise, entertain guests, read, listen to music, or watch television. For a serene retreat, our conservatory overlooks the sensory garden, offering a peaceful space for residents to enjoy quiet time or relax with visitors.
Externally, residents can enjoy three large, well-kept gardens. Our unique Sensory Garden has previously won the much-coveted Grimsby in Bloom Award.
Yarborough House is conveniently situated close to the main shopping area, railway station, bus station, and general amenities. We are located on a busy bus route with a bus stop just 100 yards away and local shops, post office, garage, etc. within 200 yards.
Our experienced staff are dedicated to treating each resident with respect and providing the highest standard of care, making Yarborough House a true home away from home.
Our aim is to ensure that residents live in a clean, comfortable, and safe environment, where they are treated with respect and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities.
