Overview

Harmony House is a 24-hour residential home for up to 34 adults, designed to support people with
learning disabilities, mental health and other complex needs. The home is split into two units, the main building providing care and support for young and older adults with mental health diagnosis and is spread over two floors accommodating 24 adults both male and female. The other unit is called South View and accommodates up to 11 older adults with dementia or learning disabilities. The two units run separate from each other and has their own staffing team each day.
We support people living at Harmony House to lead active lives in which their individuality, independence, dignity and respect are maintained. We fully embrace person centred planning, ensuring the person we support is at the centre in the delivery of our high-quality care and support.
The people we support at Harmony House are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities of their choice and interest. These include leisure, educational and employment opportunities, varying from attending college, day centres, art therapy, In house holistic therapy, music groups, computer skills, health clubs and swimming.
The service has a large garden and the entrance with plenty private parking. It has a fully equipped skills kitchen and laundry facilities, where people supported are encouraged to utilize and develop daily living skills which they will use in the future.
Harmony encourages development of individuals in preparation for living independently and are supported on their journey in transitioning form 24 hour residential, into ISL or independently with their own tenancy.
The home is within easy reach of local amenities including shops.
There are public buses and metro transport close by to access the Newcastle and Sunderland City Centre other places, within ten minutes walking distance from the service.
