Overview
Albemarle is a specialist dementia home for 42 residents situated in the popular East Yorkshire market town of Hedon.
Albemarle is a two-storey residential home with a lift for access to the first floor. We have three lounges for relaxing, entertaining and socialising. We also have three different areas of enclosed garden; one area having a greenhouse and vegetable planters that service users enjoy.
We have dedicated Activity Coordinators who facilitate a full activities programme ensuring that service users can be as active as they wish.
Our large lounge called ‘The Hub’ features a bar and pool table. Here we have regular ‘pub nights’ where we hold quizzes, play darts, chess, pool and dominoes.
We have frequent visits from hairdressers and chiropodists should residents wish to avail themselves to these services.
We enjoy frequent visits from external entertainers where relatives are welcome to come along and join in. Families are also invited to support our annual Summer Fair which is always enjoyed by the larger community. We are located in the bustling market town of Hedon in East Yorkshire where there are many facilities which we make good use of.
We enjoy outings whenever we are able to with frequent visits to Withernsea, Hornsea, Bridlington, Sewerby Hall and Gardens and East Park.
The Manager writes……
“At Albemarle we are very focussed on person-centred care and strongly believe that each and every resident should be treated as an individual. All team members interact with the service users and our home has a very friendly atmosphere. Visitors are always welcome to have a cup of tea when visiting and also, if they wish, a meal by prior arrangement. We like families to get to know the team and the home and to feel included in whatever is taking place.”
