Overview
Westbrook House supports up to eight adults with learning disabilities and physical health needs, providing tailored care in a safe, welcoming environment. Our focus is on fostering independence, comfort, and quality of life for the people we support. We aim to deliver a service that meets their individual needs and preferences.
Westbrook House is centrally located with excellent transport links and close proximity to shops, community facilities, and leisure activities. Each person has a private ground-floor bedroom, and the home is fully wheelchair accessible, including lift facilities. Individuals are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms and contribute to decorating shared spaces, creating a homely and inclusive atmosphere.
The home is ideally positioned to offer easy access to local resources. Local shops are a short five-minute walk away, providing opportunities for errands and outings. Nearby community centres and recreational spaces encourage social engagement and participation. Proximity to parks, cafés, and cultural venues supports varied and enjoyable activities for the people we support.
Our dedicated staff receive comprehensive training, ensuring high-quality care tailored to individual needs. Training includes mandatory modules as well as specialised topics such as moving and handling, epilepsy care, PEG feeding, and catheter care. Many staff members have been part of the Westbrook team for over five years, providing continuity and expertise.
We maintain close partnerships with healthcare professionals to ensure robust medical support. Individuals have access to the local community learning disabilities team through referrals, including occupational therapists, dietitians, and Speech and Language Therapists (SALT). We also have strong relationships with a nearby GP surgery, pharmacy, and district nurses to ensure timely and effective healthcare.
