Overview

July VII Limited t/a Wykenhurst is a residential home in the Whitecross area of Hereford, registered with CQC to accommodate 25 people - it has a 'Good' rating.
What makes us unique is that we provide exceptional care and support not only for the elderly but for younger adults too. Specializing in mental health needs we find the range of ages promotes the “sense of family” whilst ensuring we continually deliver quality, person centred care for a wide array of abilities, interests and preferences.
Wykenhurst also offers short stay services such as respite care and reablement support.

Each resident has a tailor made plan of care to ensure all their needs are met in order for them to continue leading a happy, healthy and fulfilled life.
When they first come to live at Wykenhurst a resident is assigned their own key worker, who supported by the staff will endeavour to get to know them thoroughly and liaise with family and friends to be able to support the resident with the adjustment to life in the home. Our staff are carefully selected for their knowledge, experience and sympathetic but confident approach to caring for people, they continually strive to create and maintain a positive and homely environment for all of our residents and understand the importance of keeping relatives informed when appropriate. Family and friends are welcome to visit any time.

Our cooks are always willing to discuss the menu or daily meals with residents and will try to cater for all tastes. There is always an alternative choice to the main meal, and special diets are catered for.

Independence and dignity are extremely important to us at Wykenhurst and whilst we are here to support the day to day living needs of the residents we continually encourage everyone to be as independent as they are able ensuring a sense of achievement and well-being.
People living in the home have access to a shop which is located at the end of the street, a hairdressers, takeaways, cashpoint and a couple of local cafes. Those that can access the community independently are encouraged to do so and those that can’t are offered the support to enable them access to places of interest in the local community. Hereford is a busy market city with many shops located around High Town and The Old Market. It is easily accessible from Wykenhurst with a regular ten-minute bus trip or a taxi. Our more mobile residents walk into the city.
