Overview
17 Walsworth Road is a specialist service supporting individuals with a learning disability, behaviours that challenge, and associated needs. The goal of the home is to create a friendly, safe space that helps the people we support be independent. It encourages them to live normal lives and supports them in learning new skills and experiencing new opportunities.
Our home features a big dining room, a lounge, a kitchen, an activity room, a conservatory, and a laundry area. Each room is nicely decorated, and the people we support can add their own personal touch to their bedrooms. The back of the property has a big garden that includes a vegetable patch, a patio with a barbecue and garden furniture, and an open grassy area.
The house is located in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, just a five-minute walk from the town centre, which has many shops and services. Walsworth Road is easy to reach by public transport; the bus stop in the town centre is only 300 meters from the house, and the nearest train station is half a mile away, providing quick access to London via Stevenage, Peterborough, and other northern towns.
The people we support living at Walsworth Road can pick from a wide range of group and individual activities, including swimming at the local pool or the Keech Hospice Hydrotherapy pool, bowling, visiting green spaces, enjoying meals and drinks out, attending discos, going to the cinema, personal shopping, and more.
