Lambton House is a home in the area of Houghton Le Spring, which can accommodate 55 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for those with dementia. Lambton House also offers the following short stay services; respite care, intermediate care and rehabilitation. Lambton House is situated in open countryside on the outskirts of Bournmoor, near to Chester-le-Street and Houghton-le-Spring, not far from the historic city of Durham.

With 57 en suite bedrooms, communal areas, a quiet library lounge and an in-house hairdressing salon, the original twentieth-century property has been substantially and seamlessly extended to be spacious, light, comfortable and dementia-friendly.

An exceptional living environment has been created to encompass all the needs and requirements for any person in need of care, comfort, compassion and friendship.

The home is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens offering residents and visitors a peaceful and tranquil setting to enjoy open country views beyond the home's boundaries. Lambton's garden is also home to the “Residents' Rainbow Tearoom” (opened Aug 2020), an old fashioned tearoom themed social meeting place for residents and families to use, and hosts outdoor entertainment events during the summer.

In May 2021 the residents private “Pit Stop Garden Bar” was opened offering yet another social stimulation meeting place. The snug-style bar is also in the main garden building with a local mining heritage and reminiscence themed interior. The bar, which is heated with toilet facilities, offers visitors a TV, magnetic dartboard, dominoes and card games.

In 2023, a cinema projector and large drop down screen was installed in the home for resident film evenings.

The Lambton team consists of senior care managers, professionally trained carers, many of whom have over 20 years' experience, and dedicated activities co-ordinators.

Lambton House is registered with, and are champions of, the National Dignity Council, promoting and committing to Dignity in Care and is also a member of NAPA, (National Activity Providers Association).
