Overview

Bishops Way is a service for up to 16 people with Mental Health Disorders, Dementia, Learning Disabilities, Autism, or other Complex Care needs. We support people with a person-centred approach utilising care or recovery models or enablement as appropriate. We are situated in Meltham village, which is a vibrant busy village with a range of shops and entertainment on our doorstep.

We Pride ourselves with upskilled, competent, and compassionate staff who have skills and specialist knowledge to support people with complex behavioural challenges through a positive behavioural support framework. Our in house clinical Psychologist, clinical lead & Therapy team, lead and support the homes to achieve the best outcome for each individual resident. We celebrate individuality to gain the best possible outcomes.

Our Company Values and Ethos underpin all that we do. We truly believe in investing in our teams to ensure they have the right knowledge and skills, this together with their passion to make a difference, is what makes our team special, and together we can make a difference.

We have a therapy team of a Positive Behaviouralist and Service Managers to develop meaningful activities within our service to support our residents. Moving and Handling, PROACT-SCIPr-UK training to use the diversion and distraction approach, care planning, capacity assessments, community assessments and social activity support. Their experience, expertise and input ensure that the people we support receive therapeutic support to lead a safer and independent life.

Bishops Way is a purposefully designed building with 14 single bedrooms with en-suite accommodation and 2 self-contained flats provided on 2 floors. The Service has a conservatory, Bistro for informal dining, communal areas, garden areas and a cosy cinema room. We encourage all the people we support to create their own private, safe space in their room.
