Introduction to Trabel House:

Trabel House is a residential Care Home located In Huddersfield and is part of the South East region. It provides accommodation for 12 people, who have a moderate to severe learning disability. The home also may provide services to people who have physical disabilities, and those with secondary mental health issues or more complex behaviour.
The service is divided into two units –A house for 10 people with learning disabilities and Challenging behaviour and a two bedded unit at the back which houses 1 person with complex needs.

The main House
The Home has 11 Bedrooms in total
6 Bedrooms on the first floor
2 Bedrooms on the second floor
3 Bedrooms on the ground floor for service users with mobility issues
All room sizes exceed standards of 14.1 Square metres and 17.1 square metres for people who may use a wheelchair. All bedrooms have a hand wash basin; rooms have privacy locks on doors and a lockable facility to secure valuables and personal items. There are Bathrooms and 2 shower rooms within the main house that all service users have access to.
Communal Area
There is a large lounge, a separate dinning area and a small breakfast room. All rooms are centrally heated and provide comfortable seating, service users are encouraged to use the communal rooms, and however service users who require privacy and choose to spend time in their own rooms may do so. Caretech is a non-smoking organisation
The Gatehouse
The Gatehouse is a Bungalow unit which is situated at the back of the main house, and has a Communal area, dinning Area, a kitchen and utility room, and a bathroom which is accessible to the one service user living there. All rooms are centrally heated and provide comfortable seating; rooms exceed the National Minimum standards of 14.1 Square metres. The two bedrooms have a hand wash basin; rooms have privacy locks on doors and a lockable facility to secure valuables and personal items.
Support offered is high and will be individually assessed, with a baseline average ratio of 1 to 1 staffing with one gentleman that resides there.
The people who live at Trabel House may need help with all day-to-day activities, including personal care, and support to enable them to integrate into the local community
