Chilwell House is located in the heart of Ilkeston, Derbyshire. The home is within walking distance of a variety of shops, a leisure centre & other fitness facilities, and Ilkeston College. There are also good transport links to Derby, Nottingham and Mansfield. Individuals living at Chilwell House can therefore easily access and be part of the local community.

Where appropriate, individuals can also be supported by our Clinical Consultant Psychologist who delivers Compassion Focused Therapies to address trauma.
Chilwell House is a supportive space, with all the comforts of home and facilities for relaxation and recreation. At the heart of the house is a spacious communal lounge and dining area; perfect for group activities, special events and day to day socialising. Adjacent to the communal lounge is a communal kitchen, there is also an additional kitchen equipped for group activities and cooking skills training. Individuals can also spend time in the Zen Room, a therapeutic space offering tranquillity and privacy. The garden at Chilwell House contains sheltered outdoor spaces, and a water feature complete with koi fish.
Chilwell House contains 12 bedrooms which are light and spacious and each have an en-suite bathroom. There are also 3 step-down rooms situated in the back garden which are slightly bigger than the rooms within the house itself and also contain kitchens. Individuals can progress to living within these step-down rooms when they have
reached a level of independence where they may be starting to consider moving back into the community or to community based support services such as Supported
Living.
Following a referral to Chilwell House, an assessment will be arranged and undertaken by the Chilwell House management team. They will provide feedback on
whether they feel Chilwell House will be able to meet the needs of the individual. A proposal of care will then be submitted and if the individual and their care team are
happy to proceed, admission and transition plans will be agreed.
Individuals living in Chilwell House are empowered to develop or regain key life skills and coping mechanisms. The service focuses on community based activities, the
use of public transport, education, work experience, job placements and the development of hobbies and interests.
