Overview

Castle Brook is one of WCS Care's newest homes, providing long-term residential care and short-term respite care for up to 88 older people and people living with dementia, providing modern accommodation across six separate households - on either the ground floor, middle or top floor (both accessible by a lift).

Each household has a large, open plan living area with a lounge, dining area and domestic-style kitchen where people can make their own snacks and drinks, full meal or simply do some baking or get involved in the washing up.

All rooms include ensuite facilities and there are also ground-floor double apartments available for couples or relatives wanting to stay together, with their own lounge, kitchenette and personal patio garden.

Castle Brook has a range of community facilities including a cafe, cinema, hair salon, shop, and traditional launderette. There are regular activities including exercise classes, gardening, table tennis, bowling (on the roof top bowling green), music sessions with the home's community musician, a weekly choir and weekly church service. Residents can get involved as much or as little as they want.

Everyone living at Castle Brook has access to the outdoors either at the front of the home where you'll find the cafe patio, in the back garden where, alongside the raised beds for growing flowers and vegetables, there's our side-by-side bike and bike track and outdoor gym equipment, or upstairs on the covered household balconies.

Our Memory Maker minibus provides regular, local trips for residents, including those who need to use a wheelchair. We also welcome relatives on our trips so families can make new memories together.
