Overview

For three decades, Orchard House has been a beacon of high-quality care for the elderly. Nestled in the serene residential area of Barton Seagrave, Kettering, this secure, cheerful, and relaxed home has been a comforting haven for many. Recognised with a 'Good' award by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in March 2023, Orchard House is committed to upholding the highest standards of care that our cherished residents deserve.

Strategically located next to the Shell petrol station on Barton Road, Orchard House enjoys the convenience of being near the A14, providing easy access to Kettering, Wellingborough, and Northampton.

As a registered care home, Orchard House provides round-the-clock care for 33 residents, catering to both Older Persons (OP) and Dementia (DE) categories. In addition, we offer daycare services, ensuring comprehensive care for our residents.

At Orchard House, our mission is to provide exemplary care to all our residents, a standard that embodies the fundamental principles of Good Care Practice. This commitment to excellence is evident in our practices, conduct, and the quality of care provided in the Home.

We strive to create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment where residents are treated with respect and sensitivity. Our staff are attuned to the individual needs of residents, providing the appropriate level of care to ensure the highest possible quality of life within the Home.

The Home spans two levels - ground and first floor, with a passenger lift ensuring easy accessibility between floors. We prioritise accommodating residents who rely on wheelchairs on the ground floor, wherever possible and with the resident’s agreement. However, all rooms and communal areas are wheelchair accessible.

Orchard House boasts 29 tastefully decorated and fully furnished bedrooms. We encourage residents to bring smaller articles of furniture, a television, pictures, and ornaments to personalise their rooms. Each room is equipped with a wash basin (most have an en-suite facility), a call system, and radiators with individual thermostatic controls. Additionally, every bedroom has been recently fitted with state-of-the-art fall detection technology, enabling staff to be quickly and automatically alerted in the event of a fall.

The home features three bathrooms, including a specially designed wet room, and several toilets accessible to all. Communal areas include a main lounge for socialising, entertaining guests, listening to music, watching television, or reading, and a quiet lounge upstairs. There's also a conservatory overlooking the Sensory Garden, offering a peaceful space for residents or for entertaining visitors.

Externally, residents can enjoy the surrounding well-kept gardens, providing a tranquil outdoor space for relaxation and enjoyment.
