Overview
Helen Ley House is a Warwickshire-based specialist care centre for individuals with complex neurological conditions such as Acquired Brain Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Huntington’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurological cancers, Parkinson’s Disease, Parkinsons-Plus Syndrome, Spinal Cord Injuries, Str0ke recovery and rehabilitation. Residents with these conditions often require complex nursing needs which are supported here, such as tracheostomies and PEGs.
Helen Ley House is situated in the beautiful Blackdown area of Leamington Spa and can accommodate just under forty residents. It has a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC.
Care is provided for permanent residents, rehabilitation residents and short-stay respite guests in a relaxed and homely environment.
Helen Ley House has an interdisciplinary team of Dietetics, General Practitioner, Health Care Assistants, Neuro Rehabilitation Consultant, Neuropsychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, PDOC Specialist Consultant, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Speech & Language Therapy.
Clinical services offered are 24-hour nursing and care, personalised care planning, interdisciplinary team approach, support with funding assessment and arrangement of onsite opticians and chiropody treatments.
Engaging activities are held such as book, documentary and film clubs, gardening with raised, accessible beds, ‘move to music’, puzzles, games, arts & crafts, relaxation group, sensory modulation and stimulation, onsite events from musicians to farm animals, therapy dog visits, Tai Chi and Boxing sessions, worship group with visiting speakers.
