Overview
Sycamores provides long-term residential care for older people and people living with dementia. We can also support with respite breaks.
Sycamores has been designed as three separate households with the ground floor providing a home for 10 people, while the middle and top floors house 13 people each and can be accessed by a lift. Each household has a living area with a lounge, dining area and kitchenette, where people can make their own snacks and drinks, and staff are able to help with the preparation of hot refreshments.
The open living area is a central hub for each household where people like to get together and socialise with other residents, family and friends. You'll often find our regular exercise classes or activities happening in the living area or we might be outside in the gardens. The gardens includes paved areas, a specially designed cycle path for our side-by-side companion bike for two, lawn and summer house.
As part of our activity provision WCS Care employs dedicated Community Musicians who deliver one-to-one or group music-based activities. Listening to music has the power to unlock memories, trigger emotions and connect people. Regular music can keep the ‘emotional memory’ topped up.
Our Memory Maker minibus provides regular, local trips for residents, including those who need to use a wheelchair. We also welcome relatives on our trips so families can make new memories together.
Sycamores also has a beauty salon offering unisex hairdressing and manicures.
