Overview
At St Philips Close, we offer physical and emotional support to eight adults with a range of learning and physical disabilities. We focus on helping individuals access local services and work towards their personal goals, while prioritising privacy, rights, choice, dignity, and inclusion in all interactions.
The people we support are encouraged to participate in a variety of creative activities, including swimming, dancing, and visits to local attractions such as museums and cinemas. They also have the option to attend college, day services, and local clubs. Other activities include cooking, baking, massage, manicures, games, and developing daily living skills.
Communication is a priority, and we maintain open, transparent dialogue with families, friends, and professionals involved in each individual's health and wellbeing. All aspects of care, including medication, health, and emotional needs, are discussed in detail with the guidance of health professionals as needed. We ensure that each individuals is involved in creating their own care plan, placing them at the centre of decision-making. Families, advocates, and care managers are consulted, and we encourage visits through our open-door policy, while ensuring privacy and comfort for all.
Support is also available for visits to family homes. Monthly house and menu planning meetings allow everyone to participate in decisions about how their home is managed.
St Philips consists of two purpose-built bungalows with communal gardens, securely enclosed by a wall and shrubbery. Each bungalow has four bedrooms and two fully adapted bathrooms. The facilities are wheelchair accessible and furnished to a high standard, offering a welcoming environment.
