Overview

The White House is a home in the Eggington area of Leighton Buzzard, which can accommodate just under 25 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for those with dementia.

The White House is one of the larger homes within Janes Care Homes Group offering lots of communal spaces and private areas for peace and quiet.

The computer room enables residents to skype family members and keep in touch via email, with larger keyboards available for those with poor sight or co-ordination.

Given the focus on living with dementia, security and safety is of the upmost importance and the majority of our rooms are away from stairwells or accessible only via a key-pad door-locking system.

Our staff are qualified and fully trained, and we are regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Central Bedfordshire Compliance Officers. We aim to meet the highest standards in care and as such hold monthly residents and staff meetings, as well as an annual satisfaction survey. A monthly newsletter is distributed to keep residents and families updated.

The White House offers a real family environment, where living ‘a normal life’ is actively promoted. The open house policy means that visitors can come whenever a resident wishes and they can even book to have a meal with a resident. For married couples, where a husband or wife can no longer live at home, sharing a meal together is important. Our double rooms also mean that couples, who move to The White House together and wish to share a room, can do so.

Regular outings, events and activities are organised for the residents on a weekly basis by activity staff at The White House, this includes Sunday trips to the local church.
