Overview
Beckfield House is a beautiful, late Victorian Arts and Crafts style former Gentleman’s Residence with an attractive modern annexe. It is set in pleasant gardens in the quiet village of Heighington, just 4 miles from the Cathedral city of Lincoln.
The home offers single, double, twin and shared rooms with the majority of the rooms on the ground floor and some on the first floor benefitting from ensuite facilities. The Home also offers a very spacious dining room with direct access to the patio and 2 sitting rooms. Some of the downstairs bedrooms also benefit from patio doors leading directly onto the sunny patio overlooking the secure garden. We also have a hairdressing salon, bathroom, medication and wellbeing room on the ground floor.
We offer day care sessions for residents who wish to have the company of our residents and the care of our staff but not necessarily in need of 24/7 care. We offer one free taster session for day care residents as well as offering pre-bookable respite breaks (subject to availability).
The Home is well equipped with moving and handling equipment and all of the main bathrooms have integrated hoist in the baths.
Full laundry facilities are included in the cost of your accommodation and towels and flannels and basic toileteries are provided by the Home.
We offer a varied seasonal menu for lunch and teatime with two hot options at lunch and a hot and buffet style teatime choice. Our meals are all homecooked by our Head Chef using fresh ingredients. We are also able to cater for a variety of special dietary and cultural needs. Drinks and snacks are always available throughout the day and night.
We have a hairdresser that visits the Home weekly or you can continue to use your own hairdresser and benefit from the use of our salon. We also have a Chiropodist that visits the home every 6 weeks together with the an outside hearing clinic and opticians. There is a small charge for these services in addition to the cost of your care.
We have an extensive range of activities provided by our Activity Co-ordinators and staff. We have a monthly residents' meeting where we listen to our residents regarding their choice of menus and activities and tailor them to the residents' wishes. We have a Summer Fete each year which is a brilliant way to integrate into the community as well as our monthly coffee mornings with the Heighington Parish Council and the Heighington Bowls team providing us with access to their bowling green to watch matches during the summer months. We also offer a quarterly newsletter and a Resident and Relatives meeting quarterly where we chat with Residents and Family/Friends about the Home and the Care their loved one is receiving.
We have a weekly routine visit from our Home Health Team who are a group of Advanced Nurse Practitioners linked to the surgery. We also have access to Occupation Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, as well as District Nurses and CPN's.
