Overview

Mornington Hall Nursing Home

Mornington Hall Nursing Home is a purpose built 120 bed nursing home situated in a quiet location on the borders of Manor Park and Ilford, North East London.

The home is registered to provide nursing care for adults aged 18 and over and to provide for older persons and dementia nursing needs. The home also provides care to palliative persons.

Our residents all have identified nursing needs and therefore, age groups are mixed on both floors. We feel that this reflects community living.

The home has 60 single-en-suite rooms (toilet and washbasin).

All rooms have a television aerial point and a telephone connection point. Telephones may be connected but this cost is borne by the resident, as is the cost of rental and calls. All rooms have nurse call and smoke detection systems installed.

Each room provides a bed, a bedside locker, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe, and an armchair. Residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms with pictures and small pieces of furniture.
(Electrical equipment and other personal items will be checked for safety and the management reserves the right to refuse any item felt to be unsafe.

When a resident’s room requires redecoration, we encourage the resident to choose a colour scheme to reflect their personality and choice.

For residents who require assistance to transfer we are equipped with various hoists for everyday use and for bathing. Shower chairs are used for residents unable to stand in the shower. All toilets are fitted with grab rails at appropriate heights. Other equipment can be provided as required (e.g. raised toilet seat, commode etc.)

There are secluded patio garden areas around the home, some with raised flower beds to enable residents to participate in gardening should they so wish. There is an outside purpose-built smoking area for the residents who wish to smoke.

All areas within the Home and the gardens are wheelchair accessible.
