Overview
At Edith Road we support three people with profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities.
Our home is well-equipped to support individuals who are able to walk but have mobility support needs, such as using a wheelchair when going out. There are hand rails throughout the house to help the people we support maintain their mobility and independence. Each of our housemates have their own bedroom, which they are encouraged to personalise, and there is a shared bathroom with adapted bath and shower facilities. We also benefit from a shared kitchen, dining room, lounge and conservatory.
There are opportunities for the people we support to take part in activities at the local Boyn Grove day centre. Other activities we enjoy include massages, music, art and crafts, bowling and sensory sessions. Maidenhead town centre is within close proximity, used for shopping and cinema trips. Each person we support has a programme of activities tailor-made for their interests and needs. Our home is in close proximity to another Voyage Care home, Pinkneys Road, which is situated round the corner. The people we support at both houses get together regularly for shared music sessions, parties, barbecues and holidays.
