Overview
Springfield Residential Home is a home in the area of March, which can accommodate just under 30 residents - it has a 'Good' rating from the CQC. Care can be provided for those with dementia.
Springfield is a small home, that we would describe as home from home, most of our staff are long term and our staff turnover is marginal. When coming to see your relatives you are not coming to our home but coming to see them in their home.
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
Our Activities Co-Ordinator organises a regular programme of activities and entertainment, such as film afternoons, sing-songs, flower arranging, light exercise, bingo and board games. There is a weekly church service at the home. Our team are busy arranging craft and other activities around other seasonal events such as Halloween, St Valentine’s Day and Pancake Day.
Seasonal events include our Christmas party and the Easter decorations. We arrange outings throughout the year, for example trips to the local garden Centre. We arrange in-house singing entertainment.
At Christmas we hold a Christmas party in the week before Christmas. All residents and family are encouraged to attend. Santa comes too, with personal presents tailored to each resident. There is also a bus trip to see the Christmas lights. On Christmas Day, we do the traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and also a Christmas tea. Of course there are Christmas crackers, coloured hats and the other Christmas extras. We provide special meals also on Boxing Day and New Years Day. Families and friends of residents are invited to all of these events.
