Overview

Blenheim Lodge Aims to deliver care to our residents aligned with our core value “that every resident has the right to a high quality service, promoting independence and individuality in an environment of respect, non discrimination, confidentiality, equality, diversity and safety”.

Our objectives are to provide a dedicated staff team to include a Care Manager and Care Supervisor who are well trained, supervised and motivated to deliver person centred care to our residents. We provide accommodation that is safe, secure and properly maintained. Blenheim Lodge encourage residents and their representatives to participate in planning their care delivery in order to encourage as full a life as possible. We ensure that privacy, dignity, choice, independence, diversity and human rights are central to our core values. Blenheim Lodge use our quality assurance programme to encourage feedback on all aspects of our services.

Blenheim Lodge Care Home has a philosophy of care which aims to provide its Residents with a secure, relaxed, non-institutionalised and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance.

All staff will strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in so doing will be sensitive to the residents’ ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic, cultural, psychological, spiritual and emotional. Residents will be encouraged to participate in the development of their individualised care plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued. Blenheim Lodge will actively promote and maintain the maximum potential for self-care and individual independent living within a recognised framework.

To accomplish this we will endeavour to develop a culture amongst the whole workforce that reflects a commitment to continuing care. We encourage staff to take a pride in the quality of care provided.

Staff within the Home will be appropriately qualified/trained to deliver the highest standards of care. Continuous staff training and supervision will be implemented to ensure that these high standards are maintained in line with the latest developments in care practices as may be laid down in appropriate legislation, regulations, and the Care Quality Commission

It will take responsibility for the promotion of a care environment where all staff are motivated to keep up to date on all aspects of practice.

Delivery of care will be based on the best evidence available to suit the resident. This evidence will encompass the many types of knowledge collected from a variety of different sources in the quest for a total picture and resultant clinical effectiveness.

Blenheim Lodge will recognise their limitations and call on their professional partners for help and advice.

We are aware of the need for emotional and spiritual expression for our clients, their families and friends. To this end we encourage, but not enforce social engagement and interaction as well as an awareness of others. By avoiding alienation and disconnection we give purpose and meaning to our residents’ lives. Our staff will introduce themselves to each new client and their needs will be assessed, and they will be able to discuss how they wish their stay at Blenheim Lodge to progress. They will be invited to join the numerous activities available; they will also be encouraged to offer new ideas and suggestions.

Blenheim Lodge recognises the importance of working closely with residents’ families to develop a mutually supportive network to benefit our residents’ lives.
